About Ilex Café

Ilex Café sits inside the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, open every day except Christmas Day from 9.00am. The café has seating for over 300 and serves coffee, tea, beer and wine alongside locally sourced produce.

Its events arm, ilex Events, hosts conferences, workshops, product launches and private functions as well as weddings and celebrations, with a dedicated event manager and tailored catering. Spaces include one for up to 120 seated or 170 standing, a private room for up to 64 seated or 160 standing in Cuningham House, which was built in 1923 and is listed with Heritage New Zealand, and a space for up to 180 standing.

Access to the Conservatory and Central Rose Garden for photographs is included. A wedding info pack is available to download.
